Position SummarySenior RADAR Field Engineer – responsible for the operations, maintenance, testing, and support of Advanced Surveillance Systems in the National Capital Region (NCR).
What You Will Do- Routine travel to the Program Systems Integration Lab (SIL) for system familiarization and orientation.
- Potentially work alternating shifts, on‑call shifts, or a non‑standard schedule.
- Overnight travel within the NCR on a recurring basis.
- Extended CONUS travel may be required.
- Monitor/operate systems, conduct preventive maintenance, and provide on‑call response at system sites from a designated support facility in the NCR.
- Maintain shift and equipment logs.
- Populate Field Engineering notebooks and provide input for data trend analysis and technical publications.
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of two years’ experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting radar or comparable surveillance equipment, including fault isolation and repair.
- Experience with current‑generation radar systems operation and testing (basic radar philosophy, power‑up / power‑down, radar initialization, etc.).
- Experience with radar software operations.
- Experience supporting control systems, cabling, fiber‑optic cabling, and interconnect diagrams.
- Experience reading and understanding test plans, procedures, design drawings, specifications, and vendor technical documentation related to electronic/mechanical systems.
- Experience with Cisco switch, router configuration, and networking.
- Self‑starter with excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to excel with minimal direction.
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Windows scripting.
- SQL database developer/scripting.
- Effective communication with peers, supervisors, and customers.
- Basic HVAC systems and remote backup generators knowledge.
- Knowledge of electronics, RF concepts, digital and analog concepts, and troubleshooting with general electronic test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Current DOD Top Secret/Special Access Programs clearance.
Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD, with compensation offered based on experience and qualifications.

Eligible for annual incentive compensation programs, subject to performance and business results.
