Technical Drafting Engineer

At our Frederick, MD location, we're expanding our technical team to support growing demand and exceptional customer experiences.
Position OverviewWe're looking for a Technical Drafting Engineer with a passion for precision and problem-solving. In this role, you'll produce technical drawings and 3D models for modular structures, collaborate with our project management and sales teams, and help bring bold ideas to life—from conceptual design through to on-site execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for structure layouts, elevations, and connection details
- Modify and update existing plans based on project scope and client specifications
- Assist in structural calculations and load assessments with engineering guidance
- Collaborate with project managers, field operations, and the sales team
- US liaison with German engineering department
- Maintain drawing documentation and technical files in an organized system
- Communicate with clients or partners when technical clarification is needed
- Support installation crews with technical layouts and logistics planning
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Sketch Up, Revit, or Solid Works is a plus
- Strong understanding of structural components and building principles
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and architectural/engineering drawings
- Exceptional attention to detail and spatial reasoning
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Able to work full-time, in-office in Frederick, MD
Preferred Experience
- Experience in modular or temporary structures, tents, or event/industrial design
- Knowledge of IBC, local codes, or temporary permitting processes
- Previous collaboration with construction or field crews
