Intralox L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for a Controls Performance Engineer – Business Benefits Team at our Hanover, MD location.

Intralox, L.L.C., located in Hanover, MD, is seeking a Controls Performance Engineer to join our Business Benefits Team. The Hanover site serves as a hub for innovation in conveyance equipment and supports product releases for customers around the world. The Business Benefits Team is responsible for commissioning, supporting, observing, and optimizing new solutions that have been deployed at customer sites to ensure they are meeting or exceeding minimum performance, ergonomic, and reliability requirements.

Within this environment, the Controls Performance Engineer plays a critical role not only in validating functional performance and robustness, but also in shaping and improving equipment performance.

Success in this role requires a strong foundational understanding of how the equipment functions to identify opportunities, develop improvement concepts, and influence solutions from both mechanical and controls perspectives. Working in close partnership with mechanical and controls engineers, the Controls Performance Engineer helps translate these opportunities into meaningful design and performance advancements. The Controls Performance Engineer is expected to provide ownership of the overall vision, strategy, and outcome of performance improvement efforts.

In addition, the Controls Performance Engineer is responsible for developing efficient, comprehensive test plans and delivering clear, well-documented results that enable the broader engineering team to release equipment capable of long-term success in customer operations.

This is a customer-facing position where the Controls Performance Engineer will work directly with our customers to improve our systems. The Controls Performance Engineer must be able to communicate in an effective, professional manner what changes are needed and why so that we maintain alignment with the customer on how the systems are intended to be operated. This position will focus on the Activated Roller Belt (ARB) Equipment space.

The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support at client sites for new and existing systems.
  • Lead field installation and commissioning of equipment.
  • Observe system running under live conditions and analyze performance, making real time adjustments to parameters, code, and system logic to make sustainable improvements.
  • Support mechanical and electrical subcontractors for installation of equipment at customer facilities.
  • Support & troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment and systems remotely (phone/remote sessions).
  • Develop and implement controls upgrades on existing systems.
  • Lead troubleshooting and repair/adjustment of mechanical and electrical control systems.
  • Work with other groups for continuous improvement of systems and processes.
  • Work with Test Engineering Group and perform factory acceptance tests of finished equipment.
  • Provide design and assembly support for industrial conveyor equipment, as needed.
