Reporting to the R&D Manager, the Junior Electrical Engineer will assist with all electrical engineering activities (technical and process). Primary functions will include (but not limited to) safety, quality, manufacturing efficiency, model integration, and supporting company goals. Focus will be supporting the electrical department by creating and updating procedures and technical instruction (Drawings, Work Instructions etc), Bill of materials control and updates, process improvements and improving vessel build quality.

- Responsible for creating and compiling various technical documents to be used in the manufacturing and quality control processes.
- Documents include (but are not limited to) manufacturing drawings, Work instruction, Electrical schematics, assembly drawings, Training instruction, check lists, Risk assessments and technical bulletins.
- Creating and controlling Bill of Materials for various production lines and offsite manufacturing.
- Communication of relevant information regarding the rolling out of designs to the various departments (including feedback to the R&D Manager) to ensure successful implementation of designs and processes.
- Supporting several production lines producing both sailing and power-driven yachts to improve processes and efficiency of all electrical tasks.
- Electrical system design and detailing work on both new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Audits to confirm manufacturing quality, BOM accuracy and processes are followed correctly.
- Research and investigation into new techniques and products to improve both the design and manufacturing process.
- Minimum:
Diploma in Electrical or Mechatronics or related qualification. - Experience:
1-2 years design experience in manufacturing industry (boat building industry preferred). - Thorough understanding of design for manufacturing and build sequence.
- Excellent Working knowledge of AutoCAD / Draftsight, and a Basic knowledge of Solidworks. Speed / Accuracy tests to be conducted in both programs.
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office package (especially Excel).
- Boat Building knowledge/experience preferred.

- Able to work within a team (good social skills)
- Good Communication skills (verbal & written)
- Fluent in English

- An interest in boating and boat building is advantageous to this role as the position will include practical product development, sea trials, and manufacturing problem solving.
