We are seeking an HVAC Design Technician to create residential HVAC system layouts and construction documents that meet applicable building codes and project requirements. This role works closely with engineering and construction teams to support the design process from initial calculations through final documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design residential HVAC systems using AutoCAD and other design software.
  • Perform HVAC load calculations (Manual J, S, and

    D) to determine proper equipment sizing and duct layouts.
  • Prepare and update construction drawings, design documents, and system specifications.
  • Review architectural and construction plans to ensure HVAC designs align with project requirements.
  • Research technical information and coordinate with internal teams to resolve design questions.
  • Track assigned projects to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Review completed work for accuracy, code compliance, and consistency before final release.
  • Assist with material takeoffs and support documentation as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering, drafting, and construction personnel throughout the design process.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Drafting, Architecture, Construction, or a related field, or equivalent AutoCAD drafting experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in HVAC design, drafting, architecture, engineering, or the construction industry.
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Experience using Wright soft is preferred.
  • Knowledge of residential HVAC design, including Manual J, Manual S, and Manual D calculations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
