Technical Lead, Engineering, Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Automation Lead to join our team in Frederick, MD.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished engineer who can combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and problem-solving skills. You will play a key role in leading technical projects, developing engineering solutions, and acting as a technical authority across the business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering, pneumatic systems, and HVAC controls, with the ability to lead complex technical projects from design through implementation and commissioning.

• Provide technical leadership across engineering, controls, and automation projects.
• Lead the design, development, integration, and implementation of technical solutions.
• Provide technical expertise across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and HVAC control systems.
• Review technical designs, specifications, drawings, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
• Work closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system optimisation.
• Develop and implement engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, efficiency, and automation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technical team members.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry developments.

You will ideally have strong hands-on experience with:

• Electrical engineering
• Mechanical engineering
• Pneumatic systems
• HVAC controls and systems
• Industrial controls and automation
• System integration and troubleshooting
• Technical design and documentation

Siemens PLC programming experience is highly desirable.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 7-10 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong experience across electrical and mechanical engineering.
• Demonstrable experience with pneumatic systems and HVAC controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience leading technical projects and making engineering decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.

Preferred Experience

• Industrial automation and control systems.
• Previous experience in a Technical Lead, Senior Engineer, or similar position.
• Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and best practices.
