DescriptionReporting to the Correctional Housing Unit Manager II, this position provides supervision for subordinate officers regarding their assigned tasks with male offenders in a Minimum/Medium/Close custody state correctional facility.
Responsibilities- Conduct shift line‑up, make shift assignments, and inspect personnel for physical and mental capability to assume assigned post.
- Supervise and assign subordinate officers to specific areas or posts.
- Complete, review, and maintain time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations, and administrative forms.
- Account for persons and funds to ensure all assigned equipment is operationally ready.
- Oversee subordinate officers’ activities relating to the custody and welfare of offenders.
- Work rotating and various duty assignments within the defined level of work.
- High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and at least two years of experience as a correctional officer, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission (NCJCETS).
- Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G .0302).
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Produce a negative drug screening result.
- Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of facility operations.
- Knowledge of prison policies and procedures.

Salary Range: $37,377 - $65,408
