Job Information
Non-exempt (compensatory and/or overtime eligible); full-time; 40 of hours worked;
Monday – Friday; 7:30 am to 4:00 pm; full benefits This technical and administrative position oversees permit intake, processing, and compliance for various building functions, ensuring proper applications, fees, and regulatory adherence. The position works with contractors, design professionals, and the public. The position also assists in permit processing policy development with leadership, supervises implementation and corrective actions, and participates in meetings to address permitting activities and resolve issues.
Direction is given to Permits staff; supervision is received from the Manager, Permitting Services.

The upper pay range reflects possible wage rates for internal County transfers and promotions, which are calculated per County policy

Essential Duties AndJob Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and give direction to Permit staff regarding the processing and management of the permit and license processes
- Perform quality control, audits, and assurance reviews on applications received and processed; follow up on audits as needed
- Coordinate with inspectors to process Temporary Certificates of Occupancy applications
- Attend meetings for Electrical, Plumbing, and Gaming Boards, and keep track of meetings and minutes
- Maintain project files, databases, spreadsheets, and project status documents, including scanning and filing documents
- Assist the Manager of Permitting Services with the assignment of work objectives for staff, coordinate, review, and evaluate the work performance of staff
- Assist with overall staff involvement with centralized intake and processing and provide guidance and training to Customer Service Technicians, Permits Coordinator and Administrative Specialists regarding processing and management of the permit and license processes
- Perform other related duties as required
