Description
Emergency Relief - (12 Hour Shifts, Rotating Weekends and Holidays)
Job Summary
Under limited supervision and the direction of the Radiologist, performs a variety of procedures utilizing magnetic resonance imaging equipment and CT scanners to visualize internal anatomy across diverse patient populations.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs patient positioning, secures patients to MR table, and selects appropriate scan protocols.
- Transmits images to PACS and evaluates image quality with radiologists.
- Performs daily quality control checks and maintains equipment.
- Assists with contrast administration, including assessing patient sensitivity and obtaining consent.
- Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of workspace and checks emergency supplies.
- Maintains accurate patient records and manages data entry in PACS, HIS, and RIS systems.
- Responds to emergency calls as required.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program and registered as an MR technologist (ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an MRI Technologist or Radiologic Technologist.
- BLS CPR Certification required.
- Excellent customer service, communication skills, and ability to handle stressful situations.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to perform independently and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Knowledge of patient care across all age groups and understanding of growth and development principles.
Physical and Working Conditions
- Medium-Heavy Work: lifting, pushing, pulling, and handling equipment.
- Exposure to blood borne pathogens, magnetic fields, electrical equipment, and stressful work conditions.
Reporting
Reports to Supervisor of Clinical Imaging.

Hourly range: $35.56 - 52.65
