Responsibilities
  • Maintain and demonstrate expertise in automated pharmacy equipment, including operation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair; support and sustain calibration programs for pharmacy instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and operational performance by conducting root cause analysis, utilizing statistical process control methods, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, productivity, and safety.
  • Maintain medication quality standards by monitoring expiration dates, ensuring proper product rotation, conducting routine inspections, and performing physical quality checks on medications and pharmacy supplies.
  • Support pharmacy quality, automation efficiency, and workplace safety by monitoring production and process data, documenting results, identifying trends, proactively resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with established quality standards.
  • Maintain pharmacy technology systems, including inventory management systems and automated medication-counting equipment; monitor inventory levels, calibrate equipment, apply product‑specific settings, replenish medications, and troubleshoot automation‑related issues to maintain workflow continuity.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and accountability of medication and supply inventories by utilizing automated inventory systems, conducting audits, managing pill‑cell databases, documenting inventory procedures, processing recalls and expired medications, and properly handling hazardous waste and product returns.
  • Maintain inventory levels by receiving, sorting, stocking, and replenishing medications and supplies; support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, stock rotation practices, and shrink‑reduction initiatives.
  • Support operational reporting requirements by maintaining accurate records, entering and updating pharmacy data, processing required documentation, generating reports, identifying discrepancies, and communicating process improvement opportunities to leadership.
  • Assist pharmacists with prescription fulfillment, inventory management, claims processing, documentation, and maintaining a compliant work environment to support the delivery of pharmacy products and services in accordance with company policies and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate prescription fulfillment within an automated central fill pharmacy by:
    • Utilizing scanners to identify and select medications.
    • Verifying medication strength, quantity, and packaging requirements.
    • Recording expiration dates and lot numbers.
    • Labeling prescriptions accurately.
    • Weighing, counting, and preparing medications for dispensing.
    • Packaging and distributing prescription orders.
    • Replenishing automated counting machines to support production goals.
  • Develop, communicate, and implement operational processes that support business objectives; collaborate with leadership and business partners to analyze information, monitor results, identify improvement opportunities, and drive execution.
  • Demonstrate and promote compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards; support a culture of integrity through accountability, adherence to the Open Door Policy, and active participation in resolving compliance concerns.
  • Lead and participate in team activities by sharing resources, providing guidance, supporting associates, coordinating work assignments, and helping others adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
