This position will coordinate assigned HIV outreach, navigation, and early intervention activities for the Local Health Department HIV Program, including Ryan White HIV/AIDS (Part
B) and CDC funded HIV prevention services. This position works under general supervision to implement outreach activities that support HIV testing, linkage to care, re-engagement in care, and access to prevention services for populations at risk for or living with HIV in Frederick County. This position supports program operations by coordinating community outreach activities, maintaining collaborative relationships with designated community partners, conducting basic needs assessments and service gap reviews, and providing recommendations to improve outreach effectiveness and service coordination.
This position also assists program leadership in ensuring assigned activities are implemented in accordance with established procedures and grant requirements.
- Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. - Experience:
One year of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources. - Notes:
- 1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
- 2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
- Experience in organization and planning.
- Experience working with underserved or uninsured community populations.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Comfortable with public speaking.
