Data Architect / Database Engineer (Logi Cole Modernization)
Location:
Frederick, MD (Ft. Detrick) – Hybrid (3 Days Onsite)
Clearance:
Must be a U.S. Citizen (Ability to obtain Public Trust / Tier 3 Investigation)
We are looking for a high-performing Data Architect to join a critical mission rick. You will be an imperative part of the team responsible for the database engineering and large-scale data migration from legacy systems into Logi Cole, the future of military medical logistics. This role requires an individual obsessed with data accuracy and the ability to thrive in an Agile/SAFe environment where your work directly impacts the availability of medical supplies for our service members.
Whatyou'll do
- Architect & Engineer:
Plan, develop, and implement complex features for both Postgre
SQL (SQL) and Mongo
DB (No
SQL) databases. - Legacy Migration:
Lead data migration tasks, ensuring high‑fidelity transformation from legacy structures into modern cloud‑native schemas. - ETL & Streaming:
Design and manage data flows using Apache NiFi, utilizing Change Data Capture (CDC) and full‑load techniques. - Scripting & Automation:
Develop Python and JavaScript scripts to query, validate, and reconcile data across disparate systems. - Collaborate:
Work within a cross‑functional team (Developers, BAs, Testers) to ensure data integrity across the full SDLC.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field. - Experience:
4+ years in IT systems development with a heavy focus on data. - SQL Mastery:
Proficiency in Postgre
SQL, including modifying objects, analyzing complex relationships, and data reconciliation. - No
SQL Expertise:
Hands‑on experience with Mongo
DB, specifically using JavaScript for object manipulation and validation. - Scripting:
Strong Python skills for database access and data modification. - Frameworks:
Experience with Apache NiFi for ETL/Streaming. - Methodology:
Deep understanding of Agile/SAFe principles and tools like Jira.
- Certifications:
Security+, CISSP, or Cloud+ (highly preferred). - Clearance:
Active Common Access Card (CAC) or recent Tier 3 (T3) investigation. - Domain Knowledge:
Experience with Defense Medical Logistics or DoD medical treatment facilities.
