Overview
At Digital Harbor Foundation, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) fills an essential role focused on championing a strategy and vision for leveraging technology to help communities unlock their full potential and flourish. The CTO will support a portfolio of projects deploying novel, cutting-edge technologies to help solve complex social challenges. By building a comprehensive strategy and leveraging a network of thought leaders across multiple sectors, the CTO will help our projects achieve their ambitious goals and serve as a thought-leader in the broader sector.
The ideal candidate for this position has extensive experience supporting multiple aspects of product design and is passionate about building a coalition of technical thought leaders to leverage technology to tackle some of society’s most complex social challenges.

Education and Experience Requirements- Bachelors in computer science or related field or 8+ years in executive management in an applicable field.
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying digital products.
- Extensive multi-sector experience is ideal.
- Relevant certifications, such as Cyber Security (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM), Information Technology (e.g., CompTIA A, Cisco CCNA), or Project Management (e.g., PMP, CAPM, Agile).

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a growing and evolving environment.
- Clear commitment and vision for how equity and inclusion show up in organizational design
- Superb written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience and expertise related to application development, infrastructure optimization, mobile computing, data and analytics. In addition, experience in developing/implementing data governance and enterprise architecture is highly desired.
- Flexible, open-minded, and collaborative mindset.
- Ability to successfully work independently, including managing multiple projects and deadlines and proactively identifying and completing tasks.
- Ability to collaborate on informal and formal team-based projects.
- Ability to act as a strategic thought partner in tandem with the CEO and make recommendations that take into account competing needs and priorities.
- A strong understanding of current technology trends, particularly related to the application of technologies to address social challenges.
Reporting directly to the President & CEO, this position is a member of Digital Harbor Foundation’s senior leadership team. C-level leaders are expected to:
- Think strategically and play a strong role in shaping a vision for the organization’s future.
- Develop a plan for how their functional area will support that strategic vision.
- Rally their employees around the strategic vision.
- Prepare their teams to execute on the tasks that help achieve the organization’s goals.
- Persuade, influence, and inspire C-suite colleagues, direct reports, managers, and employees.
- Guide their departments through changes while minimizing the negative impact of disruptions.
- Draw on deep expertise in the functional areas they oversee.
- Effectively delegate management duties.
- Assess their direct reports against key metrics to ensure quality performance and improvement.
