Overview
We are seeking a Data Scientist to support our NLP project focused on accurate and automatic tokenization of language data from spoken or written sources. In this role, you will develop automated solutions for annotating language data with parts‑of‑speech information and enhance existing models by evaluating their performance against human‑generated annotations for both speech and text. Your contributions will be crucial in advancing our NLP capabilities and ensuring high‑quality language processing.

- Enhance existing models by evaluating performance against human‑generated annotations for both speech and text.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to advance NLP capabilities.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience. Preferred fields include Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related disciplines. A Certificate in Data Science from an accredited institution is also acceptable.
- Experience in designing and implementing machine learning, data science, advanced analytical algorithms, programming (proficiency in at least one high‑level language such as Python), statistical analysis (variance, sampling error, inference, hypothesis testing, EDA, linear models), data management (cleaning and transformation), data mining, data modeling, artificial intelligence, or software engineering.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
- Combination of at least two of the following skill areas:
Foundations (Mathematical, Computational, Statistical), Data Processing (management, curation, visualization, workflow reproducibility), Modeling, Inference, and Prediction (domain‑specific considerations). - Experience extracting meaning and value from large government datasets, translating mission needs into technical requirements, and communicating complex technical information to non‑technical audiences.
- Competitive salary range: $155,000—$185,000 USD.
