Job TitleTechnical Writer

ResponsibilitiesAs a Technical Writer on our team, you will support the drafting, writing, editing, formatting, proof‑reading, and document management of required system technical documents for a family of systems. You will prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents and work closely with Task Leads, System and Software Engineers, System Administrators, Information Assurance, and System Testers to ensure all documentation remains up‑to‑date and compliant with government‑provided templates.
QualificationsYou Have:
- Experience preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents including software and systems engineering, systems operations, testing, and user documentation.
- Experience writing and editing technical documentation for all projects hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and how‑to documentation.
- Experience creating code documentation for software.
- Experience producing implementation guides and end‑user guides for capabilities.
- Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Atlassian Jira, and Confluence.
- Ability to provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation, and format technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, etc.
- TS/SCI with a polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience as a Technical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, or a high school diploma and 10+ years of experience in a comparable role.
- Experience using MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Basic manipulation of graphics (JPG, TIF, PDF, PNG).
- Interpreting technical drawings and other technical graphics.
- Conducting research and ensuring proper technical terminology.
- Organizing and writing according to an established standard.
- Working knowledge of IT systems and common IT terminology.
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Top Secret clearance with a polygraph is required.
CompensationThe projected compensation range for this position is $62.50 to $85.73 per hour, determined by factors such as location, education, skills, competencies, experience, and contract‑specific requirements.
