Machine Learning - Senior Research Engineer - Transformation, Vectors

Job Description

We are seeking a Research Scientist to investigate, analyze and review Artificial Intelligence (AI) analytics for the research, development, and realized solutions to support the exploitation of the extraordinary volume and variety of Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) communications and cybersecurity. The candidate will analyze data and create research prototypes.

• Under supervision, research and develop technically complex AI efforts.
• Perform research, design, development, and implementation activities for technically complex AI efforts under routine direction of senior technical staff.
• With minimal supervision, resolve complex AI technical problems by applying advanced principles and R&D techniques.
• Resolve highly complex AI business and managerial problems.
• Telework is available once the candidate is familiar with the environment.

A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.

Fourteen (14) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four additional (4) years of software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

• Comfortable with the research environment.
• Knowledge and experience with current Machine Learning and Machine Translation technologies, including an understanding of the encoder/decoder transformer architecture, modern text processing pipelines, text encoding vectors, and differences between transformer architectures such as Marian and large language models.
• Ability to evaluate new tools and techniques related to MT, propose and implement enhancements to MT tools and processing flow.
• Experience working with Docker, defining, building, and testing containers for deployment.
• Experience in Python, C/C++.

Salary: $225,000 – $240,000, depending on education and years of experience.
