Senior SharePoint Developer – Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS), Baltimore, MD 21215 (Grade 21).
Position Duties- Develop, maintain, and enhance SharePoint environments across on‑premises and Microsoft 365 platforms.
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain SharePoint solutions across multiple on‑premises and cloud‑based SharePoint environments.
- Develop custom SharePoint applications and web parts using C#, ASP.NET, SPFx, Visual Studio, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, CSOM, JSOM, JSON, and SharePoint Web Services.
- Implement and support workflows, data visualizations, and automation using SharePoint Designer, Power Platform Tools, and Nintex.
- Configure, administer, and maintain SharePoint services (User Profiles, Search Services, Excel Services, Managed Metadata Service); manage SharePoint web applications, site collections, document libraries, and custom lists; administer permissions to ensure data integrity and security.
- Migrate legacy SharePoint sites and content to newer versions using SQL stored procedures and Power Shell scripts, including content from Net Documents and local file systems.
- Provide Tier‑2 and Tier‑3 support, respond to service desk tickets, participate in weekly on‑call rotations, resolve incidents, and manage change requests using the Remedy ticketing system.
- Seven years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining application, communication, database, or operating systems software.
- Relevant educational background or experience substitutions as outlined (four years of experience plus high‑school graduation or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of Windows Server and IIS administration.
- Experience with Power Shell scripting and SQL Server.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with DPSCS systems or similar justice or public safety information systems.
- Knowledge of Remedy or similar IT service management platforms.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
- Microsoft SharePoint certifications or related Microsoft technologies.
- 10 years of hands‑on SharePoint development and administration experience.
- Proven experience with SharePoint migrations, upgrades, and governance strategies.
- Experience supporting systems in public sector or highly regulated environments.
- Strong proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, SPFx, Visual Studio, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS.
- Experience with CSOM, JSOM, JSON, and workflow creation using SharePoint Designer, Power Automate, or Nintex.
- Strong knowledge of SharePoint Central Administration and service application configuration.
- Experience in environment setup, maintenance, and performance optimization.
