Job Overview

The Level 4 System Administrator provides support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems. Responsibilities include managing daily configuration and operation activities, providing help desk support, handling account management, and ensuring compliance with system security controls.

• Provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
• Manage daily configuration and operation activities of IT systems.
• Provide Tier 1 Help Desk problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Assist users in accessing and using IT systems.
• Perform account management tasks such as establishing, activating, modifying, disabling, and removing accounts.
• Provide configuration management, implementation, and sustainment of compliance with applicable system security controls.
• Conduct periodic vulnerability scans of systems.
• Support IT systems in day‑to‑day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, and more.
• Implement IAVA security patches and record patch status in appropriate record systems.
• Escalate and communicate status to agency management and internal customers.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
• Troubleshoot IT systems and provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
• Support the dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved in the resolution process.
• Configure and manage UNIX, Linux, Windows (or other applicable) operating systems; install/load OS software, maintain integrity, and configure network components.
• Communicate and coordinate with the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Information System Owner (ISO) regarding system changes as part of the Change and Configuration Management Process.
• Support the ISO by completing required milestones of POA&M and coordinating completion status with the ISSO.
• Ensure IT assets remain compliant with Identity & Access Control Management (ICAM) policy.
• Apply knowledge of mission islands, Trusted Thin Client, and enhanced VDI (e.g., remote GPU and memory scaling).
• Support design of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware.
• Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalation problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.

• Mission islands, Trusted Thin Client, and enhanced VDI experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university required; four (4) years of additional SA experience may substitute.
• Twenty (20) years of experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity required.
• DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III certification and Computing Environment (CE) certification mandatory; CE certification can be fulfilled with either Microsoft OS or Cent OS/Red Hat OS CE certifications.
• Eight (8) years of experience with Service Management (ITSM) required; ITIL 4 platform certification required.
• If assigned to Directory Services TTOs: experience with Active Directory, Identity Management, SCCM, DNS, Group Policy, Active Role Servers, Privileged Account Management (PAM) Services, and MS Exchange required.
• If assigned to Desktop & Enclave Services TTOs: understanding of mission islands, Trusted Thin Client, and enhanced VDI (e.g., remote GPU and memory scaling) required.
