Network Engineer

Overview

Freedom Technology Solutions Group  is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support a partner delivering secure, resilient, mission‑critical capabilities across a complex environment. This program delivers regional IT services to end users, offering support of devices including desktops, workplace peripherals, and voice and video devices. • Follow established Connectivity Operations Team procedures, utilizing ticketing systems for issue tracking and maintaining detailed documentation for all network activities.
• Provide hands‑on support for network upgrade projects and initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation with minimal disruption to operations.
• Install, maintain, operate, and secure LAN infrastructure and network devices to support organizational requirements.
• Respond to hardware failures by replacing and configuring networking components such as switches, routers, and access points.
• Troubleshoot and resolve end‑user connectivity issues, delivering responsive and professional customer support.
• Manage access to network segments and resources in accordance with established security policies and access control procedures.
• Perform network hardware, operating system, and software updates to maintain optimal performance, functionality, and security.
• Adhere to established change management and configuration management processes to maintain network integrity and compliance.

• Two (2) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Active security clearance with polygraph.
• Associate's degree in engineering technology from an accredited college.
• Two (2) additional years of network engineering experience may be substituted for the Associate's degree.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; includes significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; periodic work in tight areas.
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
• Certifications demonstrating CWIP compliance (A+, Net+, or Sec+).

• Experience with installation and configuration of network devices such as firewalls, switches, routers, and cabling.
• Familiarity with Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper devices.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
• Experience with network operating systems, hardware troubleshooting, and ticketing systems.
