Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this full‑time contractual position is to plan, coordinate, and support audiovisual (AV) and video teleconferencing (VTC) information technology systems for meetings, events, and hybrid productions. The role facilitates the use of technology hardware and software resources to ensure the successful execution of internal and external meetings, workshops, and other events. It also ensures reliable, high‑quality audio and video services that support communication, collaboration, and operations across MDH OET locations.

• Provide reliable, high‑quality audio and video services to support communication and collaboration across MDH OET locations.
• Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
• Maintain a focus on quality and customer satisfaction, ensuring detailed attention to every task.

Education
:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience
:
One year of experience responding to Help Desk calls from users of computer systems.

• Experience as a Video Technician or in a similar role, preferably in the events, entertainment, or AV industry.
• Strong technical experience with audiovisual equipment, including cameras, video switchers, LED walls, projectors, and signal processors.
• Experience with live streaming and presentation software, such as ATEM control, OBS, Wirecast, Vimeo Livestream, Adobe suite, Propresenter 7, PowerPoint, Facebook Live, Instagram Live, Twitch, You Tube Live, and Tik Tok Live.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively under pressure, ensuring minimal disruption to events.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience interacting professionally with clients, vendors, and team members.

Contractual employees who work 30 or more hours a week (or an average of 130 hours per month) and have a current employment contract may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. The State of Maryland subsidizes 75% of the cost of medical and prescription coverage; employees pay 25% of premiums. Employees may also elect dental, accidental death and dismemberment, and life insurance, paying full premiums for those benefits.

Leave may be granted at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
