Service Manager; Mechanical Contractor

Position Summary

W.G./Welch Mechanical Contractors LLC is seeking a Senior Manager to oversee daily commercial HVAC and plumbing service operations. This role manages scheduling and dispatch, serves as the primary customer contact, supervises service technicians, and supports department growth, billing, and profitability. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and experienced in fast-paced service environments.

• Schedule and dispatch commercial HVAC and plumbing technicians
• Manage service calendar, on-call rotation, and emergency service requests
• Serve as primary contact for commercial customers and resolve service issues
• Supervise 3–5 service technicians, hiring additional as revenue grows
• Track work orders from start to completion
• Manage preventive maintenance agreements and renewals
• Manage service inventory, fleet inspections, and vendor coordination
• Oversee billing, collections, department P&L, and growth initiatives
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or trade education preferred
• 2+ years of dispatch, service coordination, or operations experience in HVAC, plumbing, or construction
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC/plumbing terminology preferred
• Experience with service management software (Sage 300 preferred)
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
