The Director of Environmental Safety and Emergency Management oversees the Environment of Care and Life Safety activities for Springfield Hospital Center in Sykesville, serving approximately 250 patients and residents across 300 acres, 20+ buildings, and 12 patient care units. This position manages emergency planning and coordination with county and state authorities while collaborating with performance improvement, operations, and safety leadership.
Key qualifications- Bachelor's degree in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling, or related field
- Six years professional health services experience with three years in clinical or administrative services and two years in managerial or supervisory role
- Experience applying Life Safety Code Standards and maintaining Joint Commission compliance
- Experience developing and operationalizing emergency management planning, training, and exercises
- Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) compliance and facility products
