The Inventory Control Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and optimization of inventory across multiple Rohde & Schwarz sites, while coordinating production activities to meet deadlines and align with operational goals. This position leads inventory planning, forecasting, and control processes to support large-scale projects and fulfill customer demand, balancing production scheduling, material requirements, and collaboration with manufacturing teams.

The role requires cross-functional partnership with supply chain, operations, and project teams to streamline workflows, resolve bottlenecks, and align inventory strategies with business objectives. The ideal candidate is a data-driven leader with strong analytical skills, a proven track record in multi-site inventory and production coordination, and expert-level proficiency in SAP to drive operational efficiency and project success. Candidates must live within a commutable distance of either Coppell, TX or Frederick, MD.

  • Multi-Site Inventory Management:

    Develop and implement inventory control strategies across multiple locations, ensuring consistent processes and data accuracy.
  • Forecasting & Demand Planning:

    Lead the development of accurate inventory forecasts, collaborating with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to anticipate demand fluctuations and optimize stock levels.
  • Project Support:

    Manage inventory requirements for large-scale projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Inventory Analysis & Reporting:

    Analyze inventory data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare and present regular reports on key inventory metrics (e.g., turns, obsolescence, accuracy).
  • SAP System Management:

    Utilize SAP (MM/IM modules) to manage inventory transactions, analyze data, and implement process improvements. Troubleshoot SAP-related issues and collaborate with IT support as needed.
  • Process Improvement:

    Identify and implement improvements to inventory control processes, leveraging best practices and technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Team Leadership:

    Lead, mentor, and develop a team of inventory control specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Cycle Counting & Physical Inventory:

    Develop and support cycle counting program and annual physical inventory counts across all sites, ensuring accuracy and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Obsolete Inventory Management:

    Develop and execute plans to minimize obsolete inventory, including identifying slow-moving items and implementing appropriate disposition strategies.
  • Compliance & Audit:

    Ensure compliance with all relevant inventory control policies and procedures. Support internal and external audits.
Your qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in inventory control, with a demonstrated focus on multi-site management.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience leading a team of inventory professionals.
  • APICS Certifications – CPIM and CSCP a plus
  • Expert-level proficiency in SAP (MM/IM modules) is required. Experience with advanced forecasting tools within SAP is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with demand planning and forecasting methodologies.
  • Knowledge of inventory control best practices and principles.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
