Electrical and Instrumentation Technician

Summary of Essential FunctionsTo perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential function effectively. - Prioritize safety in all work activities and actively support the goal of maintaining a zero-incident safety culture.
- Ensure full environmental compliance and adhere to all environmental policies and regulations.
- Provide primary electrical, instrumentation, and controls maintenance support for manufacturing lines and associated equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot control system and programming issues; modify existing programs to improve sequencing, enhance alarm functionality, and support more effective troubleshooting and fault response within PLCs, HMIs, and automated systems.
- Perform industrial electrical work on panels, systems, and wiring up to 480V. Maintain or obtain Level 1 Electrician certification as required by the facility.
- Support equipment calibration, program installation and updates, and machine setup activities.
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
- Review, update, and redline system layouts, electrical drawings, and schematics.
- Analyze operational and performance data to identify root causes and resolve equipment or process issues.
- Maintain and support critical environmental and process control systems.
- Perform industrial maintenance tasks, including planned and scheduled work as well as urgent or emergency troubleshooting and repairs to support production.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree in Industrial Electrical, Controls, or Automation-related fields strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 4–5 years of related experience and/or training; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Candidates with less experience may be considered for a developmental role with a defined path to advancement.
- Demonstrated experience working with electrical distribution systems and wiring up to 480V.
- Experience supporting industrial automation systems using Siemens 505 or S7 PLCs, Siemens AC vector drives, and/or Wonderware preferred.
- Working knowledge of database and word-processing software, internet-based systems, and related applications. Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor is a plus.
- Experience using SAP or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred.
- Certified or able to obtain certification to operate powered industrial vehicles, including forklifts and personnel lifts.
