Systems Engineer, Operations Manager
Job Summary
This role requires a Sr. Scheduler/Project Manager experienced in project and schedule management, who will manage a large‑scale MS Project schedule with thousands of tasks for an earned‑value and agile program in Systems Integration and Development. The candidate will work directly with the Program’s Lead Scheduler to develop and refine scheduling practices, incorporate automation, risk‑management principles, and routine schedule risk assessments, and improve productivity and performance.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Work collaboratively to manage multiple schedules within the program environment.
- Engage with Agile Teams and Control Account Managers to create, maintain, and visualize schedules for customers and leadership.
- Improve the schedule‑management process by developing automations and innovations to increase the productivity of earned‑value data collection and reporting.
- Collect and enter monthly status for a wide array of sub‑schedules that are part of the integrated master schedule (IMS).
- Analyze schedule results and advise leaders and team members on actions to meet schedule constraints.
- Analyze critical/driving paths and perform schedule risk assessments (SRAs).
- BA with 15+ years of relevant experience or Master’s with 13+ years; five years as a Project Manager for a software development or related technical program.
- Two years of experience working with MS Project as a Project Manager or Scheduler.
- Strong interest in learning new scheduling approaches and applying them in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional time‑management and prioritization abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on task completion.
- Clearance required:
TS/SCI with Polygraph on day one.
- PMP or CAPM certification.
- Experience with Earned Value Management.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Experience managing or analyzing the critical path of a task network.
