Overview
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a F135 Engine Technician to serve as a member of our F135 Field Team supporting the F‑35 Joint Strike Fighter at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, MD.
Disassemble, inspect, repair, assemble, and test Pratt & Whitney F135‑PW‑0100/600 gas turbine engines, modules, associated new technologies, and Rolls Royce Lift Fan System. Perform F135 engine flightline inspection and maintenance on the F‑35B/C Lightning II aircraft and routine maintenance of support equipment.
Responsibilities- Disassemble, inspect, repair, assemble, and test engines and associated technologies.
- Perform F135 engine flightline inspections and maintenance on the F‑35B/C Lightning II aircraft.
- Routine maintenance of support equipment.
- Locate and use technical manuals for maintenance.
- Comply with CORE operating system and Environmental, Health, & Safety programs.
- Work atop maintenance platforms, ascend/descend maintenance stands, lift 25 pounds to 4‑foot height, and position for inspections under engine rails, inside the exhaust duct and aircraft inlet.
- Work in a fast‑paced team environment, adjust to changing priorities.
- Use computers, Microsoft Office, and PDF software.
- Work overtime/holidays, any shift with adequate notice; support periodic travel.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience in disassembly, inspection, and assembly of aircraft gas turbine engines.
- Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets and PPE usage.
- FAA A&P License preferred.
- Previous military experience in teardown/buildup of jet engines preferred.
- Familiarity with flight line maintenance operations preferred.
- Previous certification on engine borescope, engine blade blending, and test cell operation preferred.
- Experience in Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, or similar methodologies preferred.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

ShiftShift hours are 2:00pm to 10:30pm (2nd Shift).
