Job Title: Flower Technician I
Department: Processing
Reports to: Flower Processing Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt, Hourly
Pay: $17.00 / hr
Schedule: 5:30am-2:00pm, Mon-Fri
Location: Hancock, MD
Position SummaryThe Flower Technician I is responsible for ensuring incoming cannabis flower materials meet specifications by conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting or returning unacceptable materials.
Key Responsibilities- Perform incoming inspections of moisture, texture, overall quality, and size of batches of flower and pre‑roll material.
- Ensure proper bud size per brand standard, weigh out, and package flower and/or pre‑rolls.
- Receive raw batched items and ensure appropriate storage.
- Verify that items in kits received are of good quality and appropriate quantity.
- Sort batch items by type and complete verification paperwork for raw materials.
- Store same type of batch items together.
- Perform all counts (batches, case packs, etc.) and complete required documentation.
- Seal bags, jars, tubes and inspect quality to ensure seals meet standards.
- Apply labels to bags, jars, and boxes of product manually or with equipment.
- Maintain cleaning processes, verification paperwork and PPE in compliance with cGMP and Trulieve standards.
- Clean counters, floors and work areas for a safe environment in compliance with cGMP standards/regulations.
- Continuously monitor quality and quantity of items produced and packaged.
- Monitor and operate automated packaging and/or pre‑roll equipment efficiently.
- Notify leads of any quality, machine operation, or material challenges when they arise.
- Attend to other duties as assigned by management.
- Work in close proximity with cannabis flower and particulates daily.
- Experience with controls and instrumentation.
- Maintain timeliness of return from breaks.
- Work in a fast‑paced controlled environment.
- Work with chemicals, oils, and sharp objects.
- Processing quality experience is a plus.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to manage changes in working schedule.
- 1–3 years of related experience preferred.
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 21 years of age (or 18 years for CT, PA and WV).
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background screening.
- Push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 ft and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 ft, with or without mechanical assistance.
- Work seated or standing for extended periods, climb ladders, use hands/fingers to grasp, turn, pick, and pinch tasks.
- Handle organic matter daily and wear PPE as appropriate.
- Maintain visual acuity with or without aids for activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, and inspecting small parts.
- Communicate at conversational proficiency with co‑workers and leadership.
- Work in an environment with moderate, continuous low‑level sound.
40 hours weekly. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends and holidays.
