Production Director (Relocation to Virginia required)
Fraser Dove International is partnering exclusively with an established pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation operating in Lisbon, Portugal, committed to delivering high‑quality pharmaceutical products through safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing operations.
Our client seeks a strategic leader to direct site‑wide production operations, ensuring manufacturing excellence, regulatory compliance, and operational performance.
Objectives- Deliver production targets through safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing operations while maintaining customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement across production processes, technology transfer activities, and manufacturing performance to support business growth and operational efficiency.
- Build and develop high‑performing teams while ensuring full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), Health, Safety, Environment and Engineering (HSEE), and regulatory requirements.
- Lead production teams through subordinate managers and matrix relationships to achieve operational and business objectives.
- Develop production strategies, departmental plans, and resource allocation models aligned with corporate goals.
- Oversee manufacturing plans, production schedules, and operational priorities across multiple production lines.
- Drive collaboration between production, technical functions, business units, and other manufacturing sites to support knowledge sharing and technology transfer.
- Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), Health, Safety, Environment and Engineering (HSEE), internal procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage budgets, investment planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimise manufacturing performance and asset reliability.
- Recruit, coach, develop, and performance‑manage team members to build a high‑performing manufacturing organisation.
- 10+ years of experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing, fine chemistry, particle engineering, drug product formulation, or related production environments.
- Proven experience leading manufacturing operations and complex teams within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
- Strong experience developing production strategies, managing resources, and delivering operational objectives.
- Extensive knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), Health, Safety, Environment and Engineering (HSEE), regulatory affairs, and industrial safety requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and organisational levels.
- Master's degree in Engineering or Science, ideally Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
