Equipment Operator

About The Role

As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient processing of inbound materials and refuse of various forms through Covanta’s industrial disposal process.

• Receive and process inbound materials, through the safe operation of various types of industrial equipment, such as forklift, track hoe, skid steer, vacuum truck, tanker truck, roll‑off truck, walking floor trailer, pressure washer, material handling equipment, and various hand tools.
• Receive, weigh, unpack, and label containers as necessary.
• Safely operate industrial equipment to consolidate dumped refuse on the tipping floor.
• Follow defined industrial and manufacturing good housekeeping practices at all Covanta facilities and within assigned work areas.
• Perform exterior site maintenance and improvement as needed, which includes litter collection, painting, snow removal and ice prevention.
• Control traffic for incoming and outgoing traffic.
• Assist facility mechanic(s) with equipment repairs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year experience operating industrial equipment.
• Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule.

The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $56,900.00 – $75,700.00 USD. For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary. To calculate the hourly rate, divide by 2080.
