Aircraft Cabinet Maker

Essential Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, modifications, and repair of furnishings, cabinets, tables, bulkheads, wood trim, and other interior components.
• Uses maintenance instructions and technical data for inspection, maintenance, and repair on Special Mission aircraft.
• Evaluates quality cosmetic appearance and serviceability of all installed wood components and plastic laminate panels for scheduled repair.
• Works with wood, metal, and composite materials.
• Uses and maintains power tools and other shop equipment.
• Measures, cuts, and trims vinyl, plastics, phenolics, composites, and metals accurately with minimal waste.
• Assembles pins and glues cabinet shells made from polymer and metal honeycombs with high accuracy.
• Installs drawer slides, hinges, latches, and other aircraft‑specific hardware in subassemblies.
• Disassembles and reassembles aircraft cabinetry, strips laminate or veneer covering, and repairs damaged cabinetry.
• Fabricates custom cabinetry using samples and technical drawings.
• Designs and fabricates high‑end, made‑to‑order interior accessories upon request.
• Remanufactures interior cabinetry items that are beyond repair.
• Uses FAA certified materials and supplies for cabinetry tasks on C‑40, VC‑25, C‑32, and C‑37 aircraft, among others.
• Performs preventive maintenance, adjusts, and repairs industrial machines.
• Coordinates maintenance efforts with Production Supervisors and the Maintenance Operation Coordination Center.
• Documents discrepancies in the applicable form and inputs data in the Maintenance Information System (MIS).
• Assists in monitoring bench and shop stocks and orders materials and supplies as required.
• Ensures compliance with safety, housekeeping, tool control, and FOD prevention programs.
• Stable to work day, swing, night, and/or weekend shifts as required.
• Will perform other duties as may be assigned, including TDY and travel.

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of cabinetmaking experience, preferably on aircraft interiors.
• Experience in aircraft cabinetry local manufacturing procedures and installation of components into aircraft using approved attachment points.
• Working knowledge of procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (US citizenship required).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government flight line driver’s license.
• Must maintain training qualifications and be able to obtain additional training for other work center duties.
• Must be able to work day, swing, night, and/or weekend shifts as required.
