Aircraft Mechanic I – Back Shop Maintenance (Wheel & Tire)
Responsibilities
- Provide off-equipment maintenance for wheels, tires and associated equipment used on assigned aircraft.
- Manage, forecast and coordinate overhaul maintenance for over 50 wheel & tire assemblies spanning 4 different aircraft MDS's.
- Operate all associated ground support equipment and use hand, special tools, fixtures and adhesives applicable to maintenance and repair.
- Research technical data, maintenance drawings and blueprints for inspection, maintenance, and repair of assigned equipment.
- Disassemble, reassemble, inspect, repair and repack Boeing and Gulf Stream wing & tire assemblies.
- Monitor bench and shop stocks and order material and supplies as required.
- Coordinate maintenance efforts with the NDI Shop, Sheet metal Shop, Production Supervisors and Maintenance Operation Coordination Center.
- Document applicable forms and input data into the Maintenance Information System.
- Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping, tool control and FOO prevention programs.
- Work first, second, third or weekend shift as required.
- Perform other duties related to the occupational field as assigned.
- May be tasked with additional work center duties with provided training, including temporary duty and travel.
- Maintain all training requirements.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Working knowledge of applicable technical publications and repair procedures for wheel & tire assemblies.
- Read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to read and interpret technical data.
- FAA Airframe License.
- Physical ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance (US citizenship required).
- Obtain and maintain a flight line driver's license.
- Knowledge of corrosion control techniques and federal/company procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.
$48.85 per hour. Competitive benefits package.
