Job Title
Test Technician I – Instruments (Instrument Test Technician)
LocationSparks/Glencoe, MD 21152 (On-site)
ScheduleMonday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (40 hrs/week) + OT as needed
TypeTemporary (approx. 52 weeks)
Pay$25.00/hr (W2)
OverviewWe’re hiring Test Technicians to support production assembly and instrument/system testing in a regulated manufacturing environment. You’ll troubleshoot test equipment, analyze pass/fail results, and help optimize instrument performance while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
What You’ll Do- Perform production assembly and complete system analysis/testing of instruments
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and/or software issues on non-functioning test equipment
- Review test data to determine pass/fail and apply solutions for failed results
- Support performance optimization (precision movement and/or light systems) using test data
- Identify defects and recommend process/design improvements
- Read/interpret drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards
- Train/mentor associates on mechanical and testing activities as needed
- Maintain GMP, safety, and housekeeping standards; interface with Engineering/Quality/Planning as needed
- Work overtime as required based on business needs
- AA degree in Mechatronics (or related field) with 0 years’ experience OR 5+ years of electrical/mechanical/software troubleshooting experience
- Ability to read drawings and measure/interpret dimensions and requirements
- Comfortable using mechanical tools (torque drivers, gauges, bits, etc.)
- Strong math/analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot/problem-solve independently
- Basic PC skills (Windows environment)
- Team-oriented; able to manage multiple production orders and shifting priorities
- Experience in regulated manufacturing (GMP/quality procedures)
- Exposure to Lean / Continuous Improvement (Kaizen, blitzes, shift start-up meetings, etc.)
- Prior experience testing moderately complex instruments and interpreting release/functional test instructions
