Industrial Technician (Mechanical)

Position Overview
A manufacturing facility is seeking an Industrial Technician to support maintenance operations within a production environment. This hands-on role focuses primarily on mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment, with exposure to electrical system maintenance preferred but not required. The position supports multiple production lines by performing planned maintenance, equipment repairs, and emergency troubleshooting to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize workplace safety and follow all lockout/tagout procedures before servicing equipment.
- Ensure environmental compliance and adhere to all safety and operational standards.
- Perform mechanical maintenance and repair activities on manufacturing equipment and support systems.
- Execute scheduled and planned maintenance tasks according to established work plans, procedures, and industry best practices.
- Apply precision maintenance techniques such as measurement, alignment, and balancing to support long-term equipment performance.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities including lubrication, inspection, cleaning, and scheduled component replacement.
- Rebuild and repair equipment components such as pumps, air cylinders, valves, and related mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Maintain critical environmental and process control systems.
- Provide both scheduled maintenance and emergency production support, including troubleshooting and repairs.
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed, including occasional holiday coverage.
- Work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to operate or obtain certification to operate powered industrial equipment such as forklifts and personnel lifts.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with common Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
Preferred
- Technical certification or degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field.
- Precision maintenance or reliability certifications.
- Experience with electrical system maintenance and basic troubleshooting up to 480V service.
- Experience with MIG, TIG, or stick welding.
- Experience with crane operation, rigging, and hand signaling.
- Experience using SAP or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
