Cooler Operator
The Cooler Operator safely operates electric sit-down forklifts to move dairy products throughout refrigerated cooler and loading dock areas. This role loads and unloads trailers, stages and verifies inventory for packing and shipment, and performs general labor tasks in a cold, wet food and beverage manufacturing environment. The Cooler Operator maintains a clean and organized work area, follows all safety protocols, and collaborates closely with team members to meet production and shipping goals.
Responsibilities- Operate electric sit-down forklifts to move dairy products within the cooler and loading dock areas in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load and unload trailers using pallets and carts while ensuring accurate placement of products.
- Stage inventory items based on order forms and verify accuracy prior to packing and shipment.
- Ensure secure stacking of products and inspect shipments to prevent damage during transit.
- Perform general labor tasks, including lifting items up to 50 pounds as needed to support operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area by following established housekeeping and sanitation practices.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to forklift operation, material handling, and working in a refrigerated environment.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to meet daily production and shipping goals.
- Assist with handling and movement of materials using additional warehouse equipment such as cherry pickers and overhead cranes when required.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to safely operate electric sit-down forklifts in confined cooler and loading dock areas.
- Experience performing general labor tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, including loading, unloading, staging, and inventory handling.
- Ability to read and follow order forms to stage and verify inventory for packing and shipment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure secure stacking, accurate inspection, and damage prevention for shipments.
- Ability to work effectively in a cold, wet, refrigerated environment for extended periods.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills to support production and shipping goals.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using cherry pickers or similar warehouse equipment.
- Experience working in a food and beverage manufacturing facility or dairy plant.
- Familiarity with overhead crane operation in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting production and shipping priorities.

WorkEnvironment
This position is based in a food and beverage manufacturing facility within a refrigerated dairy plant. You will regularly operate electric sit-down forklifts and may use additional warehouse equipment such as cherry pickers and overhead cranes. The role involves physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds and performing general labor tasks, while maintaining a clean and organized workspace in accordance with safety and sanitation requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frederick, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
