Maintenance Mechanic

About the Role

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for mechanical work in support of overall facility operation and maintaining operation of the power generation plant. The role includes performing mechanical maintenance on rotational machinery and equipment, boilers, support systems, cranes, structural supports, piping systems, and more.

• Perform a wide variety of mechanical repairs, PMs, and fabrication, including pipe fitting, rigging, assembly and disassembly of all types of plant equipment, conveyors, piping, structural reinforced plastic, and sheet metal systems.
• Dismantle, overhaul, reassemble, and adjust turbines, generators, boilers, pumps, valves, and all other auxiliary equipment.
• Inspect and lubricate all plant equipment routinely and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
• Perform heavy lifting and rigging.
• Use burning torch and welding equipment to perform repair welding, mechanical repairs, piping, and valve packing.
• Perform integrity tests on piping and other plant equipment.
• Plan details of jobs assigned, develop, and use sketches, blueprints, and complex drawings.

• GED/HS Diploma or 5 years related experience.
• Experience with boilers, cranes, soot blowers, motors, turbines, condensers, and conveyors is a plus.
• Welding experience is a plus.

• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
• Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
• Qualification to wear a full-face respirator.
• Consistently work in various weather conditions.

Four 10-hour days; M-Th or Tu-F. After the training period, will be placed on-call rotation for night and weekend coverage. Shifts may change during outages.

Base pay range: $39.86 – $53.08 per hour. Final salary will be determined based on experience, education, location, skills, and other factors.
