Filler Operator / Production Workers
The Filler Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining filler equipment used in the packaging of dairy products. This role ensures that all products are accurately filled, securely sealed, and correctly labeled in accordance with established quality and food safety standards. The Filler Operator plays a key role in maintaining production efficiency, minimizing downtime, and protecting product integrity throughout the packaging process.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor filler machines for various dairy product lines to ensure consistent and efficient production.
- Perform filler and filler line changeovers safely and efficiently, following established procedures to minimize downtime.
- Monitor product weights, seals, caps, and overall packaging quality, making adjustments as needed to meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate equipment issues to maintain continuous operation and reduce production interruptions.
- Collect product samples for quality assurance testing in accordance with quality control protocols.
- Verify that appropriate packaging materials are used for each product and production run.
- Complete cleaning and sanitation procedures according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and sanitation schedules.
- Maintain accurate and timely production records, documenting output, issues, and adjustments made during the shift.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments regarding production status, equipment issues, and quality concerns.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety regulations, and food safety protocols to ensure a safe and compliant operation.
Essential
Skills:
- Experience operating machinery or equipment in a production, manufacturing, or similar environment.
- Mechanical inclination and the ability to understand basic machine functions and perform routine adjustments.
- Knowledge of or experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a food or beverage production setting.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time during the shift.
- Basic math skills for measuring, counting, and verifying product and packaging specifications.
- Basic computer literacy for entering production data and accessing work instructions.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
- Attention to detail to monitor product quality, packaging integrity, and equipment performance.
Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience in food production, warehouse operations, or manufacturing is a plus.
- Experience with machine operation in a production environment is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and team members.
- Reliability and strong work ethic, with a focus on safety and quality.

Work Environment:

Team members work on and around production lines and filler equipment, standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds.
Employees are expected to follow all safety and food safety protocols, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and adhere to plant hygiene and cleanliness standards suitable for a dairy processing environment.
