The Grants and Community Education VISTA Project focuses on building capacity for TMA's community engagement programs on college campuses and with community non-profits. The project is aimed at alleviating poverty and building healthy communities by supporting campus-community engagement programs that promote Healthy Futures, Education, and Economic Empowerment, through grant-writing and assistance with program development. VISTA Member assignments will include conducting needs assessments, researching funding organizations, organizing and reporting on program development meetings among TMA member project sites, and writing grant proposals and other fundraising documents.
This is a great opportunity to serve in a high-impact program while developing professional skills in funds development and program design.
The VISTA member will help develop and execute a grant-seeking strategy by working with TMA staff to identify TMA program areas whose collective impact will be attractive to potential funders. The VISTA will attend and report on grants and fundraising meetings and strategy sessions and will help develop sustainable systems for the acquisition and management of funding to support TMA's work furthering various aspects of poverty relief and promoting healthy communities in our region.
