Responsible for the medical assessment and care of patients by collaborating with the Nurse Manager
- Health Services & PI and ARNPs and providing consultations and referrals between medical staff. Also, provides on-call responsibilities.
- Assesses patients' physical health on admission and throughout their stay, including physical exams, lab evaluations, x-rays, and EKGs.
- Ensures accurate and thorough documentation of all assessments and provides clinical oversight of ARNPs' activities and documentation.
- Provides on-call coverage for after-hours care and makes referrals for tests and consultations, following up on results and recommendations.
- Monitors ongoing care of patients' medical conditions, provides consultations to psychiatric staff, and oversees the Axis III portion of the recovery plan.
- Educates patients and families on Substance Use Disorder (SUD) diagnoses, collaborates with staff in other disciplines, and complies with safety procedures and abuse reporting.
Education
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
- Advanced degree in nursing qualifying as an ARNP
Experience
- Two (2) years of MAT clinical experience after graduation if preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- Licensed in the state of employment. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications. Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine.
- Must have or be willing to obtain DATA 2000 Waiver prior to employment.
