Assignment DurationThis is a 13-week contract position.
ScheduleDay shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00). Rotating holidays and weekends required; block scheduling cannot be accommodated.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Labor & Delivery Nurse to join our team in a high-acuity setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit, demonstrating exceptional clinical skills and the ability to provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns.
Responsibilities- Monitor and assess maternal and fetal well-being using advanced techniques and equipment.
- Provide antepartum and postpartum care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for mothers and infants.
- Administer medications, manage pain relief protocols, and utilize internal/external fetal monitoring.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for nursing care.
- Educate patients and families on care practices, breastfeeding support, and discharge planning.
- Minimum of 3 years of current acute care experience in LDRP.
- Experience in antepartum care and electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) preferred.
- Active certification in fetal monitoring (C-EFM preferred or AWHONN Intermediate accepted with C-EFM to be obtained if contract extensions exceed 1 year).
- BLS certification is required.
- Current MD or compact nursing license in hand.
- Travel nursing experience is required.
