Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse – Private Duty School Nurse

A growing number of students (ages 3-21) enrolled in public schools will be accompanied by a private duty nurse to enable them to attend school. The nurse provides continuous monitoring and care at the school and on the school bus, working with parents/guardians to manage daily medical care.

Provide private duty nursing services to eligible students during the school day and while traveling on the school bus.

• Urinary catheterizations
• Suctions and reinsertion of tracheotomy tubes
• Medication administration and monitoring for adverse reactions; inform parents/guardians and supervisors of reactions
• Oxygen administration and ventilator care
• Enteral (tube) feedings
• Other treatments ordered by physician, PA, or nurse practitioner as outlined in the plan of care
• Collaborate with student parents and guardians

• Compensation $32.00-$33.00

Completion of an accredited licensed practical nursing program or RN. Current, unencumbered license in the state of practice.

At least one year of experience in the last 3 years.

• Background screening as required by state or client contract
• OIG, SAM, OFAC, WSOC screening
• Current CPR from the American Heart Association at the BLS level or as per contract
• Hepatitis B Statement or Declination per OSHA 29 CFR, (f)(2)
• TB screening and baseline testing at hire, with follow-up as required
• Drug screening as required by the contract
