Home Infusion RN (PRN) – Baltimore, MD
Pay: $40‑$50 per hour (DOE) plus $0.48 per mile; 5‑10+ hours per week; two‑hour radius from Baltimore, MD to see patients in their homes.
Job OverviewCSI Pharmacy seeks licensed Registered Nurses (RN) to provide high‑quality home infusion care. This part‑time, PRN role does not have a guaranteed schedule but can range from 5 to 10+ hours weekly based on availability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Administer Infusions and Injections: Deliver specialty medications via IV, subcutaneous, or other prescribed routes; monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after infusion.
- Patient Assessment: Review medical history, allergies, and current medications; evaluate vital signs before, during, and after infusions; document potential risks and side effects.
- Education & Counseling: Teach patients and caregivers about medication, side‑effect management, and emergency instructions; provide instructions for home care post‑infusion.
- Patient Monitoring & Follow‑up: Continuously monitor patients for immediate reactions; schedule follow‑up calls or visits to track progress; adjust care plans as needed.
- Documentation & Record‑Keeping: Maintain accurate records of infusion procedures, patient responses, adverse events, and medication administration; ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and pharmacy policies.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Providers: Work closely with nursing teams, pharmacists, and other staff to coordinate patient care; communicate concerns to the clinical nurse supervisor.
- Medication Management: Prepare and handle medications safely; verify correct medication and dosage for each patient.
- Quality Control & Safety: Follow sterile techniques and safety protocols; adhere to infection control guidelines.
- Inventory Management: Monitor medication stock levels; coordinate with pharmacy team to manage inventory and ensure availability of specialty medications.
- Support for Specialty Medication Services: Assist with insurance verification or authorization processes related to specialty medications.
- Immunoglobulin Mentorship Program: Serve as a mentor to new or transitioning nursing staff; provide coaching, guidance, and professional support for immunoglobulin therapy delivery.
- Training and
Competency:
Participate in training activities, review educational materials, and conduct direct observations; document mentorship activities and competency assessments. - Clinical Support: Act as a clinical resource for mentees throughout orientation or transition periods; review documentation and training records.
- College degree or equivalent certification; 2 years as an RN (required).
- 1 year of ER/ICU/Infusion experience preferred; 1 year of experience accessing PIV lines, ports, and maintaining PICC lines (required).
- 1 year of infusion experience in a hospital or home health setting (preferred).
- Successful completion of a drug screen (includes medical and recreational marijuana testing).
- Drivers may be required to travel within a two‑hour radius from Baltimore, MD.
