Overview

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg Unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. This is a full-time position in Maryland.

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while supporting their knowledge and skills through feedback from more senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and exemplify Adventist Health Care values in nursing practice.
• Use equipment and technology correctly, delegate non-nursing duties appropriately, and maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify impending changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Conduct literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice based on evidence.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• NICU experience, strongly preferred
• Passing score on NCLEX
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current Maryland State nursing license
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area

Pay Range: $37.00 - $55.00. Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as Non-Exempt.
