SummaryThe Registered Nurse is responsible for all departmental functions aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of PM Pediatrics. This role offers a pediatric nurse the opportunity to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent‑care setting and assist with primary patient care within their scope of practice under the physician’s direct supervision.
Job Responsibilities- Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations
- Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, intake, and prioritize patient care
- Perform procedures (venipuncture, IV insertion, urinary straight catheterization), administer medications (oral, rectal, IM, IV), and assist the physician with total patient care within the scope of practice
- Maintain knowledge in pediatric pharmacology
- Assist the physician with patient care, positioning, and comfort during the x‑ray process
- Perform monthly quality‑control checks in the office and assist with laboratory quality‑control testing
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization tools as required
- Practice standard safety precautions and respond quickly to emergencies, notifying the physician promptly
- Establish effective rapport with clients, families, employees, and physicians
- Follow policies and procedures, reporting needed changes to management and maintaining a safe, secure work environment
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Update knowledge through continuing education, professional publications, and participation in professional organizations
- Assist in service recovery, managing patient complaints, and improving urgent‑care flow and throughput
- Pediatric experience required;
Pediatric ER, Pediatric hospital unit, or Pediatric urgent‑care experience preferred - Active state nursing license or active compact state licensure from the state you reside in
- Competence in nursing procedures, including IV placement, urinary straight catheterization, and medication administration
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required;
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended - Knowledge of medical practice, clinic processes, terminology, equipment, and instruments
- Rapid assessment skills for critical pediatric presentations
- Sound reasoning, calm judgment, and effective communication skills (verbal and nonverbal)
- Energy, motivation, customer‑service focus, positive attitude, confidentiality, teamwork, and professionalism
$27 – $36/hour (actual salaries or rates may vary within this range depending on experience and location)
