American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience and active fetal monitoring certification.

• Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery Unit providing comprehensive obstetric care from 20 weeks gestation through 6 weeks postpartum
• Unit includes 14 Labor & Delivery rooms, an OB Triage Unit, OB Operating Rooms, and OB PACU
• Recently expanded with five new Labor & Delivery rooms featuring state-of-the-art equipment and modern technology
• Patient ratio of 1:1-2
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00pm-7:30am)
• Rotating holidays and weekends required
• Block scheduling is not available

• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP required
• C-EFM through NCC or AWHONN preferred, or AWHONN Intermediate accepted (C-EFM required if contract extensions reach or exceed 1 year from initial start date)
• ACLS and AWHONN Advanced certifications preferred
• Minimum 3 years of current, strong Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• OB Triage experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Meditech charting system experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in Labor and Delivery Management
• Circulating for C-section preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care in a family-centered birthing environment
• Longer assignments through January 9, 2027 are available but not required
• Travelers must work two of the three winter holidays
• Smoke-free facility
• RTO requests must be submitted with application and will be reviewed and approved on a per-case basis
• Accepts local candidates with no radius rule; rates are the same for local travelers
• Facility located in Frederick, Maryland, offering a historic downtown, scenic mountain views, and easy access to Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
