DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Hyperbaric RN with UHMS-approved HBOT training and wound care certification for a day-shift position with no weekends.
Details- Work in the Hyperbaric unit providing care to patients undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)
- Operate and maintain hyperbaric chambers and ancillary equipment per UHMS and NFPA safety guidelines
- Serve as Wound Clinician providing preventive and supportive wound care in coordination with medical staff
- Patient ratio of 2:1
- Active RN license (MD or Compact) required at time of consideration, no exceptions
- Current certifications: ACLS and BLS required; CHT or CHRN preferred
- Completion of an approved UHMS 40-hour Hyperbaric Treatment training required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in wound treatments and dressings including alginates, foams, hydrocolloids, hydrogels, enzymatic debriding agents, silver products, and wound vac therapy (preferred)
- Experience with casting preferred
- Knowledgeable in infection control, isolation precautions/PPE, patient/family teaching, and ulcer/prevention risk assessment tools
- Activate, operate, and perform routine cleansing of hyperbaric chambers and ancillary equipment
- Participate in emergency procedures and drills related to hyperbaric treatment
- Facility is smoke-free
- No radius rule for this facility; local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
- First-time travelers will be considered if candidate is an experienced HBO Clinician
