Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Frederick, MD | Labor and Delivery

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30) | Rotating weekends and holidays | Travelers are expected to work two of the three winter holidays | Block scheduling is not available

• Provide comprehensive obstetric nursing care for patients from 20 weeks gestation through 6 weeks postpartum
• Deliver safe, family-centered care across Labor and Delivery rooms, OB Triage, OB Operating Rooms, and OB PACU
• Perform continuous fetal monitoring and interpret findings; active fetal monitoring certification (C-EFM or AWHONN Intermediate) required
• Manage OB triage assessments and prioritize patient care based on acuity
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient safety and positive birth outcomes

• Minimum 3 years of current, strong Labor and Delivery RN experience
• OB Triage experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license must be in hand at the time of submission — no exceptions
• Active fetal monitoring certification required: C-EFM preferred; AWHONN Intermediate accepted, however C-EFM must be obtained if contract extensions meet or exceed 1 year from the initial contract start date
• Local travelers are welcome; rates are the same regardless of proximity to the facility

• C-EFM certification (preferred over AWHONN Intermediate)
• Experience working in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit with OB OR and OB PACU exposure
• Familiarity with online learning management systems for pre-start compliance modules

• Work in a recently expanded, state-of-the-art Labor and Delivery unit featuring modern technology and spaces designed with comfort, safety, and family-centered care in mind
• Located in a charming historic city with a vibrant downtown, scenic mountain views, and easy access to Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
