Position SummaryThis position drives continuous quality improvement and leads the team of QC inspectors and technicians in the production area, ensuring company quality objectives are met.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Responsible for hiring, oversight, training, development, and appraisal of departmental staff, including incoming QC inspectors, AOI/xray operators, final QC inspectors, quality technicians, and quality engineers.
- Direct day‑to‑day activities and priorities of quality team members.
- Ensure compliance with electronics manufacturing IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD‑001 standards.
- Oversee completion of first‑article inspection reports and certifications of conformance from quality department personnel, ensuring timely delivery.
- Maintain and enforce standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Participate in third‑party audits with BSI, customers, UL, and others.
- Analyze and report on departmental quality data.
- Document and initiate corrective action and risk analysis.
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from a four‑year college or university.
- 3+ years of experience in an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company.
- 3+ years of quality management experience.
- Prior experience with or implementation of an AS9100 program is preferred.
- Knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD‑001.
- Knowledge of quality processes and standards.
- Excellent communication, organizational, professional disposition, and strong managerial skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multi‑task under tight deadlines with changing priorities and schedules.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use vision. Hands used for finger, pulling, lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 20 pounds. Requires close vision for reading and analyzing documents.
Environment ConditionsWork performed indoors, frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemical, mechanical, or radiant hazards. Protective clothing such as heel straps and a lab coat may be required. Noise level is usually moderate.
