Job Description

The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager works with site program management to maintain environmental, health, and safety programs, to include policies, processes, procedures and controls. Ensures contract performance conforms to established standards and governmental agency guidelines, guaranteeing lasting customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, manage, and maintain effective Quality and Safety policies and procedures that meet the criteria for ISO compliance as well as Corporate and government safety requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a Six Sigma training program as well as other process improvement initiatives to achieve corporate quality objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with Corporate Quality to develop, implement, and sustain a behavioral quality-based program.
  • Serve as a quality liaison with Corporate Quality and ensure consistent practices and deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Implement corporate-sponsored best practices for quality assurance processes; develop and utilize benchmark-based metrics and develop & maintain reporting on these measures to ensure continuous improvement and provide needed information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare, maintain, enforce, and update the QC plans to drive performance using ISO 9001:2000 and 14001 standards across the programs.
  • Provide oversight of ES&H Programs and integrate them into the QMS.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze program(s) metrics.
  • Direct Six Sigma training and implementation.
  • Prepare and submit functional area deliverables on schedule in accordance with requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2000 standards.
  • Empower workforce with stop work authority for quality breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and provide guidance on related disciplines.
  • Seek, share, and assist in institutionalizing best practices.
  • Develop and implement program-speciç particular process improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and track progress toward meeting the goals and objectives of process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure operational personnel comply with established and applicable D1 policies and procedures.
  • Conduct audits, inspections to ensure compliance with DI policies and procedures and implement corrective actions as required.
  • May serve as liaison between programs, or various Government agencies inside or outside the United States.
  • Develop, collect, and report performance metrics as needed.
  • Participate in the identification and implementation of all continuous process improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of logistic systems, planning, quality control and supervisory policies, principles, procedures and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of analytical methodology, statistical process control and continual process improvement.
  • Familiarity with the development and operation of management reporting systems.
  • Ability to develop and present senior staff-level brieüngs and management reports.
  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement approaches and change management.
  • Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Significant knowledge of the ISO 9000 series system.
  • Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. US Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain a flightline drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in quality, business management, or engineering;
    Masters degree preferred.
  • Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in military planning and operations.
  • ASQ Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence preferred.
  • ISO 9000 Lead Auditor qualification preferred; knowledge of safety standards and general experience in dealing with environmental issues.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $116K to $124K. Compensation is determined based on location, experience, and education.
