Position SummaryWe are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic candidate at the Research Associate 2 or Senior Research Associate level (depending on experience, qualifications, and skills). This laboratory‑based position will provide opportunities for involvement in a diverse set of activities including bioanalytical method development, bioengineering, and combination product development. The primary responsibilities include supporting the execution of experiments across multiple protein and product development programs within Theradaptive, with particular focus on product formulation development and analytical testing.
Experience with routine lab techniques and analytical methods is required. The candidate will communicate results and participate in troubleshooting issues that impact data quality and project timelines.

The candidate will be detail‑oriented and have a proven ability to multi‑task and pivot quickly based on project priorities. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with staff at all levels is an important skill set needed to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities- Work closely with scientists and engineers to advance R&D and product development projects.
- Execute cell culture activities including aseptic technique, passaging, inoculations, cell differentiation, and data analysis.
- Execute biochemical analyses using separation techniques such as column chromatography, SDS‑PAGE/CE‑SDS, and RP‑HPLC.
- Conduct a wide variety of assays, including bioassays, protein binding assays, and immunoassays.
- Participate in maintaining capabilities, laboratories, equipment, and supplies.
- Understand and adhere to laboratory safety precautions and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Employ self‑reliance in drawing experiment conclusions and interpreting results. Take initiative to verify the accuracy and validity of data; correct any errors.
- Communicate project status, roadblocks and results to supervisors and managers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
- Strong scientific fundamentals, analytical background, and mathematical reasoning capability.
- Experience designing, organizing, and executing multiple experiments and handling multiple testing activities simultaneously.
- Experience with bioassays, immunoassays, protein binding assays.
- Experience with chromatography and separation (e.g., SDS‑PAGE) techniques.
- 3–7 years of work experience in an industrial setting is preferred.
- Experience with operating under controlled procedures and documentation such as GLP or GMP is desirable.
- Experience with standard data analysis tools (Excel, Graph Pad Prism).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to work in a laboratory and office setting full time.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work in a laboratory with chemicals and biochemicals and perform Biosafety Level 2 work.
$89,000 – $105,000 annually, based on qualifications and level.
Position Location- Theradaptive corporate headquarters and laboratory in Frederick, MD.
