Description DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Orders Wellness goods through proper buying procedures.
- Follows outlined procedures, including proper rotation and overstocking practices.
- Ensures orders are placed in a timely manner and accurate to monitor inventory turns.
- Confirms product dates and pulls any expired product daily; rotates and stocks throughout shift.
- Assists in ensuring appropriate signage is present throughout Wellness.
- Utilizes internal movement reports to ensure correct ordering practices.
- Follows external market trends to anticipate customer needs.
- Coordinates with Wellness Manager and Wellness Liaison to bring in new products or companies.
- Coordinates with Wellness Manager and Wellness Liaison to implement sales.
- Frequently consults Promotion and Coop Deals files to ensure prompt and accurate implementation of sales.
- Orders and oversees customer special orders.
- Assists in maintaining neatness and cleanliness throughout Wellness.
- Maintains a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
- Supports co-op core values and aligns with the Co-op Code of Conduct.
- Provides prompt, knowledgeable service and assists in finding items or identifying prices.
- Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with the products and services offered by the co-op.
- Participates in department trainings through Expert Voice and department facilitated trainings.
- Maintains a high level of communication with the Wellness Manager, Assistant Manager and Liaison.
- Maintains and monitors department waste and spoilage.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience.
- A minimum of one (1) year’s experience in a retail environment.
- A minimum of one (1) year’s experience and familiarity with natural foods.
- Supports the co-op’s core values and aligns with the Co-op Code of Conduct.
- Must possess a high level of initiative and demonstrated ability to utilize resources effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact positively with others.
- Comfortable with sales and promoting products to customers.
- Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
- Ability to work independently.
- Committed to team work and collaboration.
- Views change as inevitable, good, and healthy.
- Must possess good organization and communication skills.
- Knowledge of organic food, farming, sustainability, health and nutrition.
- Adapts readily based on evolving co-op needs or in response to feedback.
- Maintains composure in highly stressful or adverse situations.
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with MS Office Suite.
- Available for work on a consistent and timely basis with infrequent unplanned absences.
- Flexibility to work any shift, including mornings, middays, evenings, weekends.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods at a time.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and climb.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
- Reliable access to transportation.
